My best friend since childhood ped on Thursday would my job excuse me ?

My best friend was killed thursday. He was robbed and murdered. I call him my brother because thats what we called one another (brother and sister) I love an truly miss him. Not 1 day ever went by wiithout us talking on the phone. He was almost killed 2 years ago (shot 4 times a robbery)and survived since then we talked about death and how much we would always love each other. He never once wished harm on the people who have done this horrible things to him. The guy who killed him Thursday killed him robbing him for a cell phone that my brother would have simply given him in exchange for his life. I am deeply saddened and this is the 1st death I ever experienced of someone close. I visit his facebook page daily and look at our conversations and pictures together all the time. My brother hated the evils of the World because he was the kindest person he never wished to retaliate on these evil people. My job I'm not sure if they will allow me time off for a best friend's murder even though he was like a brother to me. Can u get time off for a really close friend's death or do they usually have to be related. How can they prove he isn't related or my blood brother. I don't want to lose my job. I'll go to work of course if I have to. If u have any advice on how to deal with death please let me know.Thanks have a great day
