Having a stoke the 1st signs?

i have been having chest pains but seem to have got worse this p few weeks i feel some numnest around the left part of my mouth i suffer from high blood pressure and diabetis was at my doctors last week for a check up on my diabetis and my blood pressure was up abit so wondering am i feeling the 1st part it runs in my family and i don,t want to ask them because they would have me in hospital ASAP if i got any worst then i will go but just asking this question now thanks
