How to know if a guy likes you?

There's a guy whom i like but i'm shy and i'm not sure how to show him I like him. I get the feeling he likes attention or that he tries to get my attention. He mentioned today before cl how he was single out loud and that he was getting reminder for a couples banquet even though he is not in a couple. he said "is it trying to tell me something?" LOL anyway. i like him. i turned around and laughed at his comment and told him we all got that invitation. and he kinda chuckled.
