If Jesus comes again.....would the catholic church even recognize him?

I mean, Jesus probably wouldn't just reveal himself in a way that makes it appear obvious that he is indeed the Son of God. That would make it way too easy for people to follow him. It would be much less straightforward then that. I think If he comes back, he wouldn't be who the catholic church thought he would be..... and the overly praised leaders and blind followers of the church itself, would view him as a fraud and a heretic, and he would be shunned and excommunicated.....and even possibly crucified all over again. Wouldn't that be irony at it's highest level. What do you all think?
