Is Purina an OK brand for cat food?

My family is getting a new cat tomorrow, his name is Bruno, and he was a stray that was friendly. Apparently he likes dry food so we got him some Purina dry food. His previous owner said that he drinks a lot so getting him dry food shouldn't be a problem. They also said he wasn't picky. Is Purina an Okay brand?
